First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today with Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Sigmar Gabriel, who is on a visit to Serbia during which he will also meet with Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.
Both sides noted that the relations between Serbia and Germany were very good owing to an intensive high-level dialogue and successful cooperation in all areas. They underlined in particular the importance of economic cooperation and the fact that Germany was one of the largest investors in Serbia, as well as that the volume of their foreign trade reached EUR 4 billion in the last year.
Head of Serbian Diplomacy Ivica Dacic emphasized Serbia’s willingness to promote its overall cooperation with Germany, at both political and economic levels. Recalling that Serbia, as a credible and responsible partner, contributed significantly to the stability and the strengthening of cooperation in the region, he stressed its commitment to continuing its constructive policy to this end.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to Germany for its support to the Republic of Serbia’s EU integration process, which remained one of its key foreign policy priorities.
