First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today the Special Representative of UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Zahir Tanin, as part of his regular visit to Belgrade prior to the upcoming UN Security Council session devoted to the work of UNMIK.
In the talks, they assessed the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, activity of UNMIK, noting the importance of further engagement of the Mission, undiminished in scope, in areas vital for the survival, normal and dignified life of Serbs and persons belonging to other non-Albanian communities in Kosovo and Metohija.
Minister Dacic expressed particular gratitude for the efforts made in the implementation of the UNMIK mandate as well as his expectation that the Mission would continue to carry out its mandate in accordance with UNSC Resolution 1244 (1999), in the coming period as well.
