First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, who is on official visit to Montenegro, met with President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic.
In the cordial and open talks, both officials exchanged views on bilateral issues of mutual interest. Both assessed that the bilateral relations between the two countries were at a high level. They underlined the readiness of both Serbia and Montenegro for the further promotion of bilateral relations.
It was mutually estimated that there was a wide scope for further improvement of cooperation in the economy, particularly through the realization of joint projects on transport and energy infrastructure, both in the framework of the Berlin Process and through the cooperation process with the People’s Republic of China and other investors.
Regarding European integration processes of Serbia and Montenegro, they pointed to the importance of cooperation between the two countries in this area, expressing expectation that the dynamic of the negotiation process would intensify during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU.
The President of Montenegro condemned today’s murder of leader of the Civic Initiative “Freedom, Democracy, Justice” Oliver Ivanovic and expressed his condolences, stressing his expectation that the perpetrators of this “criminal act” would be tracked down and punished.
