MINISTER DACIC MET WITH NEWLY-APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF TUNISIA

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic today received a courtesy call from a newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the Republic of Serbia H.E. Seyf Allah Rejeb.

In welcoming the Ambassador, Minister Dacic expressed his conviction that the Ambassador will continue to work towards promoting cooperation in all fields of mutual interest and reiterated that in that respect he could count on support of all institutions in Serbia.

The head of Serbian diplomacy stated that recent visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia Khemais Jhinaoui to Belgrade was a success and emphasized that promotion of economic cooperation was a priority through direct contacts between businesses in both sides and through meetings of the Joint Committee and Business Forum.

Minister Dacic expressed gratitude for the principled position of the Republic of Tunisia for not recognizing unilaterally declared independence of so-called Kosovo and expressed his expectation that the Tunisian side will continue to support territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.

Assessing the relations between the two countries as traditionally good, the Minister expressed his hope that the Ambassador will continue to work towards promotion of cooperation in all fields of mutual interest and stressed that in that respect he could count on support of all institutions in Serbia.

They agreed that it was necessary to step up high-level political dialogue as well as to promote cooperation. Ambassador Seyf Allah Rejeb renewed the invitation of the Tunisian Foreign Minister to Minister Dacic to pay a visit to Tunisia this year.
