First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherland to the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Hendrik Gerrit Cornelis van den Dool.
Ambassador Dool presented to Minister Dacic priorities of the Netherlands Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2016. He informed Minister Dacic about the most important high-level meetings to be held in Amsterdam and expressed his expectation that Minister Dacic would attend the informal meeting of Foreign Ministers of EU Member States and candidate Member States to take place on 5 and 6 February 2016.
Minister Dacic underlined that he was glad that the Netherlands was presiding over the EU Council and wished it success in this endeavour. He also said that Serbia saw the priorities of the Netherlands Presidency as important issues to be solved in which process it would be a constructive partner. He expressed his belief that the Netherlands would continue to support Serbia in opening further chapters in the negotiations with the EU.
The two interlocutors agreed that the bilateral relations were on the ascending line, void of outstanding issues. They emphasized, in particular, that there was room for their further promotion in the area of economic cooperation.
