First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the new Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Mr. Thomas Greminger, on the fringes of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Head of Serbian diplomacy congratulated Mr. Greminger on his appointment as OSCE Secretary General.
The Minister expressed his expectation that the good cooperation they had during Serbia’s and Switzerland’s consecutive Chairmanships-in-Office of the Organization would continue, affirming the full support of Serbia. He also pointed out that it was particularly important to Serbia that the OSCE maintained its neutral position concerning Kosovo and Metohija and its treatment at meetings and in documents.
Secretary General Greminger thanked the Minister for his support, commending Serbia’s OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office and emphasizing that the OSCE would not change its approach with regards to the treatment of Kosovo and Metohija.
