First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic congratulated Easter, the most joyous Christian holiday, to Serbian Patriarch Irinej and all believers who celebrate this holiday according to the Julian Calendar.
“We celebrate Easter hoping for a new beginning and with faith in a better tomorrow. Regardless of our religion or ethnic background, we should work for the benefit of Serbia and every individual in the country, for the sake of present and future generations. Easter is a time of investment in unity and solidarity, a time for genuine respect and appreciation. I wish the festive spirit of understanding and forgiveness be extended to all citizens of Serbia, regardless of their religion, gender and nationality. Messages at Easter give us comfort to face daily life problems, but also the strength to brave all the difficulties before us, confident in ultimate triumph.
With wishes for overcoming all the temptations and challenges that our time is fraught with, in the hope and with faith and love that the affiliation to Christian teaching connects and unites us, I would like all citizens of Serbia who, according to the Julian Calendar, celebrate Christ’s resurrection, to celebrate this major Christian holiday with their families in peace, good health and wellbeing,” reads a message of congratulation by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic.
