First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today with French Ambassador in Belgrade Frederic Mondoloni concerning the bilateral relations between the two countries and the up-coming visit to Serbia by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
The conclusion from the talks was that Serbia and France were reliable partners and that the political dialogue between the two countries had reached a new level and dynamics unseen for many years. The year has been marked by return visits on the level of Minister of Foreign Affairs, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic visited Paris, while the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Serbia is scheduled for December. Bearing in mind that the last visit of a French President to Serbia was in 2001, and that Serbia and France will celebrate the centenary of friendship this year, the visit of President Macron will also symbolize revitalization of the historically friendly relations between the two countries.
Minister Dacic and Ambassador Mondoloni agreed that the bilateral cooperation between the two countries had been significantly enhanced also through new investments and empowered cultural cooperation, and that the two countries would continue to promote their overall bilateral relations, respecting their mutual interests.
