The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today the OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier.
Minister Dacic and the OSCE Secretary General Zannier made a positive assessment of the cooperation between Serbia, in its capacity as the country holding the OSCE Chairmanship, and the OSCE Secretariat and its Secretary General, in the course of 2015. It was owing to this cooperation that the OSCE contributed, in a year full of security challenges and divisions, to the easing of tensions in the OSCE region, primarily in Ukraine, through the activities of the Special Monitoring Mission and the Trilateral Contact Group.
The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ivica Dacic informed the OSCE Secretary General about the complex preparations for the upcoming 22nd OSCE Ministerial Council, while the interlocutors agreed that the high turnout of Foreign Ministers reflects the recognition for good leadership of the Serbian Chairmanship, and the importance of the OSCE as an organization.
In today’s meeting, Minister Dacic and Secretary General Zannier also exchanged views on the decisions to be adopted in the Ministerial Council, whose drafting is still underway.
