Political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and Estonia in the fields of European integration and bilateral cooperation were held on 8 June 2016 in Tallinn.
The Acting Assistant Foreign Minister for EU, Ambassador Marina Jovicevic led the Serbian delegation, while the Estonian delegation was headed by Director General of the Department for Europe and Trans-Atlantic Relations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aino Lepik von Wirén.
The dynamics of opening negotiating chapters with Serbia, Chapter 31 in particular, the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy, regional cooperation and the migration crisis were the major topics on the agenda of the consultations.
It was noted that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Estonia were good, characterized by the efforts to further intensify their cooperation and mutual contacts. The Estonian side reiterated its support for the European integration process of Serbia and expressed its readiness to provide assistance on this path.
