First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today non-resident Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Fawwaz Al-Eitan, with residence in the Hellenic Republic.
Minister Dacic assessed that the overall relations between Serbia and Jordan were good, but insufficiently developed, and expressed readiness for strengthening and promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all segments of common interest.
Recalling the long tradition of diplomatic relations established back in 1951, Minister Dacic underlined the need for revising the Agreement from the time of the former SFRY.
In a cordial conversation, invitations were exchanged for reciprocal visits by the two Ministers, and it was noted that such visits usually give an impetus to strengthening political dialogue, economic cooperation and treaty regulations.
The Jordanian Ambassador informed the Serbian Foreign Minister of the situation in the respective region. He assessed the cooperation with the Republic of Serbia as highly positive and, in this context, expressed his pleasure at the upcoming meetings at the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors confirmed their mutual commitment to continue the development of bilateral cooperation, in expectation that the relations between the two countries would be promoted, particularly in the fields of education, culture and sports.
