Regular political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine at the level of State Secretary and Deputy Minister were held today in Belgrade.
The Serbian delegation was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Stevanović, while the Ukrainian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar.
Current bilateral issues and prospects for their promotion were discussed, above all in the field of economy.
Wide-ranging issues of cooperation in the framework of international organizations, fora and initiatives were also discussed and continuation of communication in providing mutual support was agreed on.
The Serbian delegation expressed its gratitude for the firm position of Ukraine on the issue of unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, and it also expressed the wish that Ukraine would continue to support the efforts of Serbia to hinder the aspirations of Pristina to become a member of international organizations.
Following the meeting, Consultations Plan between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for the period 2018-2019 was signed.
