First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today delegations of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate of Romania led by Cristian Sorin Dumitrescu, the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament led by Andreea Cosma and of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria led by Dzhema Marinova Grozdanova.
In a friendly and open conversation, the sides expressed their satisfaction over the good relations and substantive dialogue among the three countries in multiple areas, as well as over the developed contacts and continuous exchange of visits at high and top level.
Trilateral and quadrilateral cooperation format, and inter-parliamentary cooperation in particular, have been jointly assessed as a significant upgrade of the existing good relations and contribution to strengthening the unified voice of the region.
On this occasion, Minister Dacic thanked for the support lent to the European integration process of the Republic of Serbia, which was reaffirmed by both Bulgarian and Romanian sides, reiterating that the Western Balkans would rank high on the priority list of both countries’ Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in the first half of 2018 and in 2019 respectively.
The Serbian Foreign Minister reiterated the position that all potentially open issues between our countries should be resolved through bilateral dialogue, in the spirit of good-neighbourly relations.
Representatives of the Foreign Affairs Committees of both Romania and Bulgaria expressed their gratitude for the organization of the meeting, and expressed the intention to maintain concrete work on strengthening the trilateral/quadrilateral dimension of inter-parliamentary cooperation, as an important forum for exchange of views on all matters of common interest.
