First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today with Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz.
In today’s meeting, both sides estimated that the bilateral relations were at a high level, stable and comprehensive in scope, and characterized by an intensive political dialogue.
Minister Dacic thanked his counterpart for his personal engagement concerning the Serbian FM’s request to accelerate the procedure for the recognition of driving licenses issued by the Republic of Serbia, thus abolishing the requirement for Serbian citizens residing in Austria, already holding a driving license of the Republic of Serbia, to take a driving test in Austria as well.
Minister Sebastian Kurz conveyed gratitude for the efforts undertaken by the Republic of Serbia in addressing the challenges of the migrant crisis, stating that this issue was one of the priorities of Austria’s OSCE Chairmanship. He underlined that Austria supported further opening of chapters in the process of Serbia’s accession talks with the EU, because it was important to keep the momentum in this process, both in terms of opening and closing chapters.
The two Ministers also discussed the situation in the region as well as cooperation in the frameworks of the Berlin Process and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
