First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan, Fawwaz Al-Eitan, who earlier presented his credentials to President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic, thus officially taking up his duties as non-resident Ambassador of Jordan to Serbia, seated in Athens.
Wishing Ambassador Al-Eitan successful discharge of his duties in Serbia, Minister Dacic assessed that the overall relations between Serbia and Jordan could be further improved in all segments, expressing Serbia’s interest to promote political dialogue, economic relations and treaty regulations with Jordan, to that end.
Sharing this assessment in full, Ambassador Fawwaz al-Eitan expressed his expectation that Minister Dacic would accept the invitation to participate in the Business Forum, to be held in Jordan, on 17 May 2017.
The new Jordanian Ambassador informed the Serbian Foreign Minister of the grave challenges Jordan was facing, without sufficient support of the international community, in accommodating refugees from Syria, Palestine, Libya, Iraq and Yemen. The Ambassador underlined that a just, comprehensive and sustainable solution to the Palestinian question could be found based on the two-states principle, with borders from the period prior to 4 June 1967, as a precondition for addressing this and all other pressing issues in the Middle East.
