First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received a farewell call from Ambassador of Australia to the Republic of Serbia Julia Feeney.
Minister Dacic thanked Ambassador Feeney for her personal contribution to the enhancement of bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Australia over the past four years, expressing the importance of intensifying the high-level political dialogue. He particularly stressed the importance of the visit made by Australia’s Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, in July 2017.
Minister Dacic also pointed to the importance of the results achieved in economic and cultural cooperation, especially in the work done by Australia’s “Rio Tinto” on the development of mining projects in Serbia, and in the implementation of the major joint archaeological project “Glac” in Sremska Mitrovica.
The presence of a large Serbian community in Australia is an important bridge for bilateral relations between the two countries, and a potential for further enhancement of overall cooperation.
Ambassador Feeney underlined her satisfaction with the results achieved in the advancement of Serbia-Australia relations, and thanked Minister Dacic cordially for the excellent cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other Serbian state institutions during her term-of-office.
