Morocco and Serbia agreed to reinforce their bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship, cooperation and respect of the principal of territorial integrity and national sovereignty

Ivica Dacic with Nasser BouritaThe official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E Mr. Nasser Bourita, to Serbia, from September 10th and 11th 2018, on the occasion of the ministerial political consultations was a success and an opportunity for deepening exchange on questions of common interest and continuing their excellent coordination within international organizations.

The meeting between H.E Mr. Nasser Bourita and H.E Mr. Ivica Dačić permitted to comfort the positions of the two countries as regard their territorial integrity, and the importance of political solutions in the settlement of regional conflicts, in line with the resolutions of the United Nations’ Security Council which offer credible and serious basis of negotiations, which preserves the territorial integrity of the countries.

To this effect, Morocco and Serbia agreed to reinforce their bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship, cooperation and respect of the principal of territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

This visit also aims at boosting economic ties with Serbia to reach a level that truly reflects the excellence of political relations. The visit of H.E. Mr Bourita takes place a couple of days prior to the organization of a Seminar entitled Doing Business with Morocco, which gathers top Moroccan institutions such as CGEM, AMDIE, MASEN, and ADA, as well as a dozen businessmen who come to Belgrade to prospect new partnerships and business opportunities, in view of establishing a Moroccan-Serbian Business Council.

The exchange with high Serbian officials involved around a strong partnership that is taking shape, and a road map was drawn for its consolidation, through the holding of the 2nd Joint economic commission in December 2018, in Rabat.

Ministers Dačić and Bourita signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the two counties in the area of the Youth and Sport, which will enable the exchange of know-how, experience and the strengthening of bilateral relations.


Minister Dacic and French Senator Cadic on Serbia – France bilateral relations

Ivica Dacic and Olivier CadicFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today member of the Foreign Relations Committee of the French Republic Senate Olivier Cadic.

Minister Dacic noted the apparent progress made in the intensification of political dialogue and enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the economic field in the past year, that is, since the visit of Olivier Cadic last November. Dacic expressed his expectation that cooperation between Serbia and France would be further improved following the visit to Serbia by the French President.

Recalling that Serbia and France are strategic partners and historical allies, the Serbian Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction over the fact that Serbia and France were not only marking the centenary of their friendship this year, but would also be marking the 180th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations next year. Minister Dacic further extended his gratitude to France for supporting Serbia on its European integration path.

Senator Cadic conveyed his personal satisfaction over the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries and confirmed the historical friendship between the two peoples. He expressed his hope that Serbia would very soon become a member of the European Union, noting the exceptional contribution Serbia had made in the areas of global and regional importance such as migration management, participation in peace missions and the fight against organized crime.


Minister Dacic in talks with Senator Johnson

Ivica Dacic with Ron JohnsonFirst Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had talks today with Senator Ron Johnson, who is visiting Belgrade as part of his regional tour.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said that he was greatly pleased that the marking of the 100th anniversary of flying the Serbian flag over the White House to commemorate US alliance with Serbia had been a success. He underlined that in the future we should seek numerous points of connection between our two countries and peoples.

Senator Johnson noted that the United States wanted to support Serbia in its efforts to normalize the situation in the region, since that would contribute to the prosperity of the entire Western Balkans.


Republic of Serbia’s principled commitment to promoting the situation of minorities in both Serbia and the region

Ivica Dacic and Lamberto ZannierFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, Ambassador Lamberto Zannier.

Minister Dacic underlined that the institution of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities was of great importance for the Republic of Serbia as demonstrated by its principled commitment to promoting the situation of minorities, in both Serbia and the region.

In the meeting, the officials discussed the position of national minorities in Serbia and that of the Serbian minority in the region, with both sides expressing an expectation that Serbia’s cooperation with the Office of the OSCE HCNM would continue to be successful.
