First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today, in Saragossa, with the representative of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain in the Autonomous Region of Aragon, Mr. Gustavo Alcalde Sanchez.
Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude to the Government and the people of Spain for their strong support to the Republic of Serbia in safeguarding its territorial integrity and principles of international law.
The Serbian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of mutual support on the international level, emphasizing the significance of the Spanish support of Serbia’s European integration.
Minister Dacic and Mr. Alcalde Sanchez underlined the importance of opening an Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Saragossa and expressed their expectation that excellent mutual political relations would result in enhanced economic cooperation, as well.
The Serbian Minister informed his interlocutor of the ongoing political processes in Serbia, as well as the current reforms, while Mr. Alcalde underlined the importance of honouring the constitutional order, laws and international law, in the light of the developments in the Autonomous Region of Catalonia.
The representative of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain in the Autonomous Region of Aragon thanked Minister Dacic for visiting Aragon, adding that the Aragon institutions would extend all the necessary support to the Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Saragossa, headed by Honorary Consul Juan Carlos Trillo Biagori, to the effect of achieving the best possible cooperation in all areas of common interest.
