Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Sri Lanka consider possibility of visa exemption

Ivica Dacic with Tilak MarapanaFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic has met today, in Colombo, with his host, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka Tilak Marapana.

Expressing their pleasure at the first meeting on Ministerial level held in the last 20 years, the two Ministers noted that there were decades-long and traditionally friendly relations between Serbia and Sri Lanka.

They agreed that the cooperation needed to be promoted and enriched by intensifying the bilateral political dialogue, including the visits on top and high levels as well as through concrete forms of cooperation in other areas, for which there was large scope and mutual readiness.

Both Ministers also discussed visas and possibilities for reciprocal abolition of visa requirements. They agreed that political consultations between the two sides be held in Belgrade.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy thanked for the position of Sri Lanka on non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of “Kosovo”, expecting that Sri Lanka will maintain this position in the future.

The Sri Lankan Foreign Minister reiterated the position, as also stated by Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe, that the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo is seen as separatism they faced as well and that it is therefore absolutely unacceptable for them.


Political consultations between ministries of foreign affairs of Serbia and Japan

МFAPolitical consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the Republic of Serbia and Japan were held in Belgrade, on 7 May 2018.

The delegation of the Republic of Serbia was headed by the Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zoran Vujic, and the delegation of Japan was led by the Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Europe and Ambassador for Japanese Western Balkans Initiative, Hiroshi Kawamura.

The talks reflected mutual satisfaction at the upward trend in the overall cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Japan, which was given a strong impetus by the historic visit of Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe to the Republic of Serbia, last January.

The two delegations discussed the possibilities for further intensifying the high quality cooperation between their countries, both bilaterally and multilaterally, and exchanged views on major regional and global issues.

The talks particularly focused on the prospects of cooperation within the framework of the newly established Japanese Western Balkans Initiative, launched for the first time in the Republic of Serbia, offering vast opportunities for joint implementation of great many projects in areas of priority importance to Serbia and the region.


Minister Dacic welcomes President of the Republic of Cyprus

Ivica Dacic with the president of Republic CyprusFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic welcomed today, at Nikola Tesla Airport, President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, who is on a two-day official visit to Serbia at the invitation of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

Minister Dacic wished a warm welcome to President Nicos Anastasiades, expressing his deep pleasure that this visit was realised.

The President of the Republic of Cyprus and Serbian officials will have talks on bilateral cooperation, Serbian European integration, Brussels dialogue and on the current developments in the Western Balkans.


Односи Србије и Републике Кипар засновани на чврстом пријатељству, историјски потврђеној блискости и солидарности два народа

MIP KipraПрви потпредседник Владе и министар спољних послова Републике Србије Ивица Дачић данас је имао одвојени билатерални разговор са министром спољних послова Републике Кипар Никосом Христодулидисом, који се, као члан делегације у пратњи председника Републике Кипар Никоса Анастасијадиса, налази у посети Републици Србији.

У разговору двојице министара, обострано је оцењено да су билатерални односи две државе засновани на чврстом пријатељству, историјски потврђеној блискости и солидарности два народа. Изражено је пуно разумевање и узајамна подршка две земље у заштити националних интереса, а пре свега заштити суверенитета и територијалног интегритета. Републике Србије, односно Републике Кипар.

Министар Христодулидис је истакао да Кипар даје снажну пуну подршку процесу европске интеграције Републике Србије, коју види као следећу чланицу ЕУ.

Кипарски министар је позвао министра Дачића да ускоро посети Републику Кипар, а у циљу припреме друге заједничке седнице две владе – којој ће председавати председници Никос Анастасијадис и Александар Вучић, која је планирана да се одржи до краја ове године на Кипру. Договорено је да се интензивира и сарадња између два министарства спољних послова по свим питањима од заједничког интереса, а о чему ће у најскорије време бити усаглашен и потписан План консултација.
