Bilateral political consultations were held today between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The Serbian side was headed by MFA State Secretary Nemanja Stevanovic and the Cambodian side by MFA Secretary of State Ouch Borith.
The consultations were an opportunity to review the current bilateral relations between Serbia and Cambodia, as well as to exchange views on topics of common interest and to define opportunities and directions for the further development of bilateral cooperation.
Both sides assessed that the relations were traditionally good and friendly, but that it was necessary to intensify the political dialogue at all levels and to make additional efforts to improve economic cooperation through increased trade and investment.
On our part, we particularly underlined our gratitude for the principled position of the Kingdom of Cambodia regarding the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo and expressed the expectation that Cambodia would continue to support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.
The two State Secretaries exchanged views on the most important regional and international topics.
