Registration for Voting at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia for the Upcoming Elections in the Republic of Serbia, by March 12, 2022

Dear citizens of the Republic of Serbia in Canada, we would like to inform you that, on February 15, 2022, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, issued a decision calling elections for deputies to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, to be held on April 3, 2022.

If you are an adult citizen of the Republic of Serbia, have permanent residence in the Republic of Serbia, and are located within the area covered by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ottawa (map of consular jurisdictions), and you wish to exercise your legal right to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Republic of Serbia, please follow these steps to register to vote in Canada:

  1. Check whether you are entered in the Unified Voter Registry (JBS), based on your Unique Master Citizen Number (JMBG), which appears on your valid Serbian identity card or valid Serbian passport, on the website of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government (MDULS), via the following link:

  2. If, upon checking as described in step 1, you determine that you are not entered in the Unified Voter Registry (JBS), you may submit a legibly completed
    Application for Enrollment in the Unified Voter Registry
    to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ottawa, together with the Application to Vote Abroad, as well as scanned copies of your valid identity card (both sides) or passport (the page with your photo and personal data), sent electronically to:

  3. Citizens of the Republic of Serbia who are already entered in the Unified Voter Registry, and who reside in the provinces falling under the jurisdiction of the Embassy (map of consular jurisdictions), need only submit a legibly completed Application to Vote Abroad to the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ottawa, along with a scanned copy of their valid Serbian passport (the page with their photo and personal data) or valid Serbian identity card (both sides), no later than 6:00 PM, March 12, 2022, Ottawa, Ontario time — GMT-5 (i.e., by midnight on March 12, 2022, Serbian time), to the following email address:
