First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with the Ambassador of the United States in Belgrade, Kyle Scott. The Serbian Foreign Minister thanked the US Ambassador for the support he gave to Serbia on its European path.
Minister Dacic expressed his satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations and the achieved level of mutual trust. He emphasized Serbia’s willingness to continue with the positive trend in relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Scott expressed his concern overthe recent inflammatory political languageused in the Serbian National Assembly that crossed the diplomatic boundaries. He expressed his belief that the Government of Serbia would be harshly against and fight this harmful rhetoric.
The Ambassador stressed that the United States upheld the European integration process of the Republic of Serbia and the Brussels talks, and he highlighted his expectations that the positive dynamics of the bilateral relations would continue in the coming period as well.
He commended, among other things, the Republic of Serbia’s contribution inmaintaining regional stability, as well as its constructive approach to the migration crisis.
Minister Dacic offered his condolences to Ambassador Scott, following the terrible terrorist attack in Orlando, in which innocent lives were lost.
