OSCE CiO, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic delivered today at an official ceremony the certificates of appreciation to the representatives of institutions and companies that participated in the preparation and organization of the 22nd OSCE Ministerial Council, held in Belgrade on 3-4 December.
“It is a rare occasion that so many senior officials visit our country over a period of two days. This was the biggest event we hosted since the Non-Aligned Movement Summit Conference (in 1989), and I believe that we displayed the ability to lead and chair the Organization successfully, as well as to organize such an event in the best possible way”, said Minister Dacic.
The Minister added that the OSCE Ministerial Council in Belgrade would be “long remembered”, underlining that it cost six times less than the summit in Switzerland, yet, as he assessed, was 20 times better.
The Head of Serbian diplomacy believes that it was extremely important to Serbia, as a country, to show that it can deliver and successfully chair and lead an organization such as the OSCE, in the year of the 40th anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act, marked by numerous conflicts and crises.
The certificates of appreciation were awarded to the representatives of volunteers, institutions and subcommittees, including representatives of the Military Academy, Academy of CS and Police Studies, the University of Belgrade and others.
The certificates were also awarded to the Executive Committee, as well as to the Subcommittees on security, logistics and accommodation, protocol and the media.
Among the recipients were also the sponsors, including representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Knjaz Milos Company, Electric Power Industry of Serbia, Post of Serbia, Roads of Serbia, representatives of Serbian Railways, Nikola Tesla Airport, “Srbijagas” and “Telekom” public enterprises, tourist organizations and others.
