First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today with representatives of OPENS 2019 Initiative, which gathers youth organizations that were part of the process related to the bid of Novi Sad to become a European Youth Capital.
Novi Sad was proclaimed the European Youth Capital 2019, at the meeting of the European Youth Forum (EYF) held in Varna in November 2016.
This title is awarded to European cities for a one-year period during which these cities have an opportunity to showcase the social, political and economic life of youth through various activities.
Minister Dacic and representatives of OPENS 2019 Initiative agreed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Initiative would cooperate on international activities in which OPENS 2019 would take part, such as organizing conferences and study visits in the country and abroad, as well as programmes hosted by the UN (ECOSOC Youth Forum and UN Youth Delegate Programme).
