The second meeting of National Coordinators tasked with the settlement of open issues between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia was held in Zagreb, on 8 February 2018.
The Republic of Serbia was represented at the meeting by State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Stevanovic, while the Republic of Croatia was represented by Assistant Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Boris Grigic.
Both sides assessed that certain progress had been made over the past two months, which they considered encouraging.
Yesterday’s meeting analyzed the activities carried out by the interstate joint committees following the meeting held in Belgrade in late November 2017.
Interlocutors analyzed the activities conducted by the interstate joint committees tasked with the settlement of open issues regarding the situation of minorities, the state border, detainees and missing persons, restitution of cultural heritage, economic cooperation, judicial cooperation, the issue of outstanding pensions and succession, with special reference to Annexes A and G.
With the aim of accelerating the settlement of open issues, the Coordinators agreed on a number of recommendations to speed up the work of joint committees. The next meeting will be held in Belgrade, in the second half of May.
