The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Serbian security services hadno contacts whatsoever with the kidnappers nor did they ever receive any requests from them, including those possibly of a financial nature, nor had they negotiated the release with anyone.
Our contacts were solely with the Libyan authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as with the relevant foreign services. The families had been contacted by a number of alleged mediators, but none of their alleged requests – either financial or related to arms or any other issues, could ever have been confirmed by the Libyan side. Therefore, it could never have been even a topic for discussion.
