Традиционално пријатељски односи између Србије и Гане одличан основ за унапређење сарадње

Gana -_parlamentПрви потпредседник Владе Србије и министар спољних послова Ивица Дачић састао се данас са председником Парламента Републике Гане Ароном Мајком Оквајеом.

Министар Дачић подсетио је на традиционално добре односе који деценијама постоје између Србије и Гане и заложио се за јачање сарадње у свим областима од заједничког интереса.

Упознао је саговорника са позицијом Србије у вези са Косовом и Метохијом и обавестио га о току преговора који се, под покровитељством Европске уније, воде у Бриселу.

Председник Парламента Републике Гане Окваје нагласио је да је срећан што је посетио Србију као први гански функционер након много година и што је у прилици да разговара са пријатељима у граду у коме је одржана Прва конференција Покрета несврстаних земаља, у чијем су оснивању учествовали некадашњи југословенски лидер Тито и први председник независне Гане Кваме Нкрумах.

Саговорници су се сагласили да су традиционално пријатељски односи двеју земаља, који имају дугу и богату историју и који датирају из времена стицања ганске независности, одличан основ за унапређење сарадње у пољопривреди, образовању, трговини и другим областима, уз наставак узајамне подршке у међународним форумима.

Slavic Literature Day observed

Polaganje vencaOn the occasion of 24 May, Slavic Literature Day, Dragana Vujic, Director of International Cultural, Educational, Scientific, Technological and Sports Cooperation Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, attended the ceremony paying tribute to brothers Cyril and Methodius and their life’s work.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dragana Vujic laid a wreath at the monument to brothers Cyril and Methodius, located in the park near the Vuk Karadzic Monument in Belgrade.

At the monument, wreaths were also laid by representatives of the City of Belgrade and Slavic countries’ Embassies, as well as by various associations and citizens.


Minister Dacic confers with Ambassador of the Italian Republic Carlo Lo Cascio

Ivica DacicFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has received today new Ambassador of the Italian Republic Carlo Lo Cascio who assumed his duties in the Republic of Serbia in late April.

In the spirit of the friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation, Minister Dacic wished Ambassador Lo Cascio a successful tenure in the Republic of Serbia.
In the cordial talks, the two collocutors noted an exceptionally high level of the bilateral relations and expressed mutual readiness for the further intensification of political dialogue and cooperation in many areas of common interest.

In the light of the strategic partnership of the two countries, Minister Dacic conveyed Serbia’s interest in continuing its cooperation with the new Italian Government, including by organizing joint sessions of the two Governments. He expressed gratitude for the strong and continued support that Italy extended to Serbia’s European integration path and the stability of the Western Balkan region.

Both sides underlined, in particular, the importance of economic relations, as an area with a strong perspective for further development, through new investments of leading Italian companies already present on the Serbian market.


Gabriela Cuevas Barron visit helps to enhance inter-parliamentary dialogue, parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation with IPU

Ivica DacicFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic talked today to Mexican Senator Gabriela Cuevas Barron, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), who is paying a visit to Belgrade to participate in the regional Sustainable Development Goals seminar, co-organized by IPU and the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

Minister Dacic emphasized that the Republic of Serbia has continually been a member of this largest international parliamentary organization for full 127 years now, and that it perceived IPU as a very important organization tackling current global issues, often in collaboration with the United Nations.

The IPU President praised Serbia’s past engagement and activities within the Organization, noting that there was significant room for the enhancement of cooperation and for Serbia’s additional engagement within it.

It was underscored in the talks that the visit of IPU President Gabriela Cuevas Barron would significantly contribute to the further enhancement of the inter-parliamentary dialogue, parliamentary diplomacy and collaboration with IPU. The implementation of the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development, a subject of the Serbian Government’s special attention, featured as one of the major topics of the talks.
