Minister Dacic in talks with Kingdom of Spain Government Representative in the Autonomous Region of Andalusia

Minister Dacic voiced pleasure at his visit to Andalusia, underlining the importance of this autonomous region which has a population similar to Serbia.

Serbian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of mutual support, while both interlocutors underlined the importance of opening an Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Seville, expressing their expectation that excellent political relations would result in enhanced economic cooperation between Andalusia and Serbia.


Minister Dacic attends the OSCE Mediterranean Conference in Malaga

Ivica Dacic - OSCE - MalagaFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic attended the OSCE Mediterranean Conference on cooperation between the OSCE participating states and the Mediterranean partners in the areas of energy and environmental protection.

The conference was held in Malaga and gathered key experts in energy and public and private sectors, on both sides of the Mediterranean, to discuss policies, develop strategies and recognize business opportunities.

Minister Dacic expressed pleasure that the focus of this year’s Mediterranean Conference was on finding ways and means to use energy as leverage for the promotion of economic growth and international cooperation in the Mediterranean region.

It was pointed out that the development of clean technologies and renewable energy technologies could create new opportunities and that renewable energy today represents key solution for the challenges of energy supply, security and climate change.

It was underlined in particular that the security in Europe was closely related to security in the Mediterranean as a whole, while the issues of economy, energy and the environment are increasingly important factors in the Euro-Mediterranean security equation.


Enhancement of economic cooperation and importance of exchange of trade delegations between Serbia and Spain

Ivica Dacic with Vanessa Bernad GonzálezOn the second day of his stay in Seville, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic had a meeting with Vanessa Bernad González, head of the Andalusian Government’s Trade Promotion Agency (Extenda Junta de Andalusia).

In the talks, the collocutors particularly focused on the promotion of economic cooperation and the importance of an exchange of trade delegations.

The Serbian Foreign Minister underlined in particular favourable business environment for attracting foreign investments in Serbia and stressed that friendly relations between Serbia and Spain offered numerous possibilities for the development of comprehensive ties, to the mutual satisfaction.


Gratitude for continued Spanish support to the European integration of Serbia

Ivica Dacic with Josep BorrellFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic has met today, on the fringes of the OSCE Mediterranean Conference, with Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain Josep Borrell.

The two collocutors agreed that the bilateral relations were excellent, extremely friendly and void of any outstanding issues. They also underlined mutual readiness to further promote all forms of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic area.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy expressed his satisfaction at the continued support of Spain to the European integration of Serbia and underscored that the EU membership is Serbia’s strategic foreign policy priority. He extended special gratitude to Spain for its firm position of non-recognition of the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo as well as for its support in all international organizations.

Minister Dacic also stated that Spain was one of our greatest EU friends and pointed to its clear support to the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

Minister Borrell reiterated strong support of Spain to the further EU integration process of Serbia. He reaffirmed the principled position of official Madrid concerning the issue of support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
